Warsaw Fiber Finalizes Deal with MetroNet
WARSAW — MetroNet, a leader among Midwest fiber optic service providers, will soon be offering communication services in Warsaw. This announcement follows MetroNet’s acquisition of the assets of local broadband service provider, Warsaw Fiber, in a mutually-beneficial transaction finalized in late July.
The purchase of the local fiber optic operations is being celebrated as another leap forward for Warsaw. The investment MetroNet is making in the city confirms what citizens and leaders there already know: Warsaw is a vital place where businesses and families enjoy Midwest values without sacrificing global opportunities.
MetroNet plans to build on Warsaw Fiber’s successful foundation.
MetroNet has constructed 100 percent fiber optic networks and deployed telecommunication services in more than 25 communities in Indiana and has recently expanded into Illinois. Through MetroNet’s network, residential consumers have access to Internet speeds of up to one Gigabit per second and reliable feature-rich fiber phone service, all at affordable rates. MetroNet also offers a full suite of business communications services ranging from a scalable Hosted PBX phone solution for small and medium businesses all the way up to customized network services tailored to the specific needs of larger customers.
Current Warsaw Fiber business and residential customers will continue to experience the speed, stability and reliability that Warsaw Fiber provided and also will benefit from even greater speed offerings and phone service. MetroNet also plans to evaluate areas within the city of Warsaw for service and product expansion.
Executive officers of both fiber optic companies expressed their great pleasure in finalizing this purchase agreement.
Kevin Stelmach, MetroNet Vice-President and General Manager, said the acquisition of the Warsaw-based fiber optic operation brings tangible value to MetroNet, beginning with Warsaw Fiber’s staff. “We’re extremely fortunate to have Warsaw Fiber Founder Dean Avey and his team join MetroNet,” Stelmach said. “In addition to the fiber optic network their company constructed throughout the city of Warsaw, Dean and his team bring additional industry knowledge, plus leadership and strong local relationships,” said Stelmach.
Warsaw Fiber President Dean Avey shared his perspective about the deal between MetroNet and Warsaw Fiber; he sees it as a collaborative solution with many winners. “Our team has built a great network to serve our community and we’re excited MetroNet sees the same value,” said Avey. “We will be joining the MetroNet team to build upon what we started and also provide the same attention to customer service and focus on the community. He added, “With MetroNet’s capabilities and reputation, I see great things in store for Warsaw.”
Soon, current Warsaw Fiber customers will see the MetroNet name show up on billing statements and other company communications. MetroNet will contact existing Warsaw Fiber customers to explain both the conversion process and the service upgrades that will be made available to them. Customers can continue to call the local Warsaw Fiber number for any questions or issues regarding current services or their bill.
