Patricia Ann ‘Patty’ Klug — UPDATED
Patricia Ann “Patty” (Scott) Klug, 77, Warsaw, went home to her Lord and Savior, Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 during sunrise at her beloved Chapman Lake home.
She was born April 28, 1939 to George and Adelaide (Bilas) Scott in Birmingham, Mich.
Patty was a graduate of Dryden High School, Dryden, Mich. On October 24, 1957 she married Edwin “Ed” Klug in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Imlay City, Mich.
They started their lives together in Dryden, Mich., where they were blessed with having six children. After Ed’s job transferred the family to Bremen in 1963, the family lived on a farm until 1975. They moved to Chapman Lake (Warsaw) where the family quickly made this area home with lifelong friendships and with Patty becoming known as a second Mom to her children’s friends and “Grammie” to not only her own grandchildren but to many others.
Pat was a well-known greeter at Wal-Mart for thirteen years, or what she lovingly referred to as her Wal-Mart family. Her passions in life were her loud and large fun loving family, living on Chapman Lake, boat rides to the sandbar and enjoying the beautiful sunrises. Her love of having family memories made at Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings and all those special backyard Chicken Cook-Offs and parties that the Klugs were well known for, made her life complete.
Pat is survived by her husband, Ed Klug of Chapman Lake; six children: Mark (and spouse Stephanie) Klug, Bremen; Michael (and spouse Marty) Klug, Warsaw; Debbie (and spouse Chuck) Simpson, Chapman Lake; Julie (and spouse Brian) Smoker, Leesburg; Rita (and spouse David) Baker, Winona Lake; and Tina (and spouse Dan) Rice, Winona Lake; Grandchildren: Jessica (and spouse Joe) Dixon, Bremen; Abby (and spouse Nick) Herberg, Vermont; Cory Klug, Warsaw; Katie (and fiancé Drew Hochstetler), Warsaw; Jennifer (and spouse Russell) Brown, Valparaiso; Chas Simpson (and Fiancé Alli Finch), Warsaw; Nick Simpson ( and companion Megan Farver), Indianapolis; Shawn Smoker, Leesburg; Nicole (and spouse Ryan) Einhaus, Leesburg; and Danny, Lizzie, and Christina Rice of Winona Lake; great grandchildren: Connor and Oliver Dixon, Bremen; Madeline Hochstetler, Warsaw; Ryley and Easten Brown, Valparaiso; Carson Smoker, Leesburg; David Blake Baker, Arizona; and Conner (Alexis) Baker, Indianapolis.
