Shaw Charged With Child Molesting
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Terry Lee Shaw, 53, 357 Imagination Drive, Anderson, is being charged with a level 4 felony of child molesting.
An officer from the Syracuse Police Department responded to a claim of child molesting. When the officer arrived he talked to the mother of the minor, who reported the minor had been molested.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Shaw was invited to stay at a summer residence and arrived on July 8. Eight days later Shaw got into an argument with one of the women at the residence and was told to leave. After he left the residence a minor in the residence became emotional and told the woman that Shaw had touched her genital area.
The officer spoke with the minor, who reported Shaw was on a sofa covered with a blanket. According to the minor, everyone else in the room was asleep, when Shaw pulled down the front of her shorts and under her underwear and touched her genital area. The girl said Shaw didn’t move his hand for minutes and she didn’t know what to do.
Shaw then pulled his hand from her shorts and he told her it was time for her to go to bed and that she better not tell anyone what occurred. The girl stated she was scared and did not feel safe telling anyone until after Shaw had left the residence.
On July 18, a protective order was filed against Shaw. The woman that filed the protective order received a threatening call from Shaw as she was filing the order. Shaw told her she had better watch her “bleep” mouth and “Who you talk to, that you could come up missing and be a dead girl.” The woman later found out a complaint of child molesting had been filed against Shaw.
Shaw is being held on a surety and cash bond of $15,250.
