Martha Jane “Marty” Foreman, 91, Macy, passed away at 2:48 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Wynnfield Crossing of Rochester.
On Oct. 19, 1924, Martha was born in Howard County to George and Georgia Van Fossan Mikels. As one of four children she shared her childhood with two sisters and a brother. In 1942, she graduated from Kokomo High School.
Marty and Frederick Franklin Foreman were married Jan. 1, 1944 in Howard County. They shared 72 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced two sons, Terry and Mike, and three more generations have been added to the family tree.
Many will remember Marty waiting on them at Baxter Drugs or Schultz Brothers. In her “spare” time she could be found at the bowling alley. As a member of four or five leagues, she continued to bowl until she reached the age of 89. Marty and Fred enjoyed taking a spin around the dance floor.
Left to cherish Marty’s memories are her husband Fred; two sons: Terry Foreman and wife Carol, Macy; Mike Foreman and wife Becky, Macy; seven grandchildren: Drew Foreman, Derick Foreman, Christy Dopps and husband Adam, Nikki Evans and husband Chuck, Teresa Shakley and husband Chris, Lisa Titus, and Shawn May; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Martha in death are her parents, two sisters: Mary Mikels, Dorothy Erlenbaugh; and a brother, Ross Mikels.
Chaplain Teri White will officiate services.
