Warsaw Golf: Tigers Keeps It Up At Home
WARSAW – Warsaw moved to 4-1 at home on the season with a 182 Thursday evening against visiting Rochester (230) and Triton (271) in a girls golf trio at Stonehenge.
Warsaw posted all four of its qualifying scores in the 40s for the first time this season, led by the 42 of Madi Graham. Page Desenberg carded a 44, followed by 48s from Delaney Wihebrink and Izzy Ray.
Rochester’s Kinley Lingenfelter, a state finalist from a year ago, had the low round of the day on a course she has done well at in the past, shooting a 39. From there the bottom dropped out for the Zebras, with Rosalie Navarro next at 59, Maddie Henning at 62 and Ashlyn Foster at 70.
Triton was led by Sam Edington’s 59, and had Kate Gardner at 66, Delaine Groves at 71 and Megan McFarland at 75.
“I’m very encouraged by our team performance tonight,” stated Warsaw head coach Tad Nieter. “We left a lot of shots out there that can be easily fixed. We are really close to breaking through and reaching the next tier of our potential.”
Madison Martz of Warsaw had the lowest JV score, shooting 53, one better than LCA’s Abigail Fishel, who golfed as an individual.
