Teams Will Compete In Real-Life Mario Kart Inspired Race
INDIANAPOLIS — Individuals can go to Fountain Square at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, to see the Murphy Arts Center parking lot transformed into the grounds for the FS Human Mario Kart GP. Twenty-four teams will pedal triad drift trikes around a Mario Kart-inspired track. Racers will survive real-life obstacles and collect coins as they compete for the grand prize and the coveted mushroom cup.
Spectators will have the opportunity to jump into the action by blasting racers with turtle shells (water balloons). Some spectators in costume will be hand picked to receive a team entry in the race or head to Koopa Island where they can stun racers with super soakers.
The track will be transformed between races, local DJs and guest MCs will keep the party rolling in Goose Island, the 21-and-older Infield Beer Garden and viewing area. Admission to the event is free with RSVP. Fans of all ages will have multiple positions throughout the layout to watch and take part in the action.
Only two spots currently remain for those interested in joining a team. Team registration is $250 per four-person team. This event caps off Goose Island’s Migration Week featuring a week-long celebration of craft beer.
