Lake City Skiers Win Nationals
WARSAW — Hail to the victors!
The Lake City Skiers swept the traditional box scores for dock and equipment crew, pick-up boat crew, towboat driving, sound crew and showmanship in winning their fourth Division 2 show ski national title. The 16th USA Water Ski Division 2 Show Ski Nationals were held this past at Hidden Lake in Warsaw.
Lake City, which previously won titles in 2006, 2007 and 2014, also earned high-scoring awards for jump, doubles, pyramid, barefoot and high individual club act adding up to a total of 1,510.9 points.
The defending champions, Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers, placed second with 1,392.33 points. The Silver Lake Ski Team finished third with 1,197.65 points while the Carolina Show Ski Team rounded out the top four placements with 944.27 points.
The Division 2 Show Ski National Championships also featured athletes competing individually in adagio doubles, swivel, freestyle jumping and team jumping acts.
