ELKHART — The Extension Homemakers of Elkhart County have created a cookbook that features 17 years of award winning recipes, available to the public for purchase.
The cookbook features all recipes that have won at the Elkhart County Fair in open class Judging, sponsored by Extension Homemakers. A unique feature of this cookbook is its design which allows it to be free standing on a counter or table. The cookbook is tabbed with eight categories, including the four special contests that have occurred during the 4-H County Fair.
The categories in the cookbook include: president’s baked Item, dairy delicious, fruits and vegetables, grilling, breads and quick breads, cakes and pies, cookies and candy and a “this and that” category. There are more than 750 recipes in the book. Additional tips and cooking ideas are also included, as well as a very detailed index.
The cookbooks are being sold for $20 and can be purchased from the Elkhart County Purdue Extension Office in Goshen, located on the 4-H Fairgrounds. The office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
