HUNTINGTON — One local athlete made a big decision regarding her future Friday afternoon.
Wawasee graduate Allissa Flores signed to continue her softball career with Huntington University in a special signing on campus. The Foresters are a member of the Crossroads League, an NAIA school and also compete in the NCCAA.
“Huntington gives me a great opportunity,” Flores remarked. “It’s a great opportunity to start this next chapter of my life. This is a great community. I really think Huntington satisfies what I need academically as well as in athletics.”
Flores was a standout player for the Lady Warriors during her prep career. She was a four-year varsity starter and led the Northern Lakes Conference in home runs the past two seasons. She posted a .418 batting average in 2016 and was named All-NLC. During her junior campaign she was tabbed as Honorable Mention All-NLC. Flores also graduated with a 3.0 GPA.
