Walter Easterday — UPDATED
Walter Easterday, 93, Warsaw, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1922 in Fulton to Paul and Fay (Julian) Easterday.
He faithfully served his country and the United States Army in Company A 60th Infantry as a Corporal (Tank Gunner) in Central Europe from 1944 to 1946 during WWII. He was united marriage to Helen Sweany on Aug. 1, 1952 in Fulton. He retired from the Road Construction Industry. A Warsaw resident since 2007 he formerly resided in Rochester and Zephyrhills, Fla. He was member of Warsaw American Legion Post #49.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (spouse Dave) Furnivall; grandsons: Troy (spouse Kim) Furnivall and Tracy (spouse Amy) Furnivall, all of Warsaw; and great- grandchildren: Trent, Katie, Alex, Sara, Trae, Gabe; and three great-great grandchildren. Furthermore, a sister, Elsie Graham, Fulton and a brother, Roy (spouse Dolly) Easterday, Rochester survive.
His parents, wife Helen, Feb. 8, 2013, a son Paul, Feb. 16, 2014 and one brother Howard preceded him.
Calling hours are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, officiated by Pastor Jeff Pfiefer. American Legion Post #49, VFW Post # 1126 and the United States Army Funeral Honor Guard will render military Honors.
