Oswalt Charged With Child Molestation
WARSAW — Jeffery James Oswalt, 35, 3190 Old Colony Road, Warsaw, is being charged with two counts of child molesting, both a level 4 felony.
On May 6, 2015, an officer with the Indiana State Police Department spoke with a Child Protective Services caseworker, who reported a student had disclosed to a school resource officer she had been molested by Oswalt when she was a young child.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 21, 2015, a Child and Family Advocacy Forensic interviewer interviewed the minor female, who stated she had been in a weight class at school and someone grabbed her thigh when she “freaked out” and started crying because she had been touched inappropriately in the past by Oswalt.
The minor also told the SRO how Oswalt would lay her down and have her close her eyes, while putting his hand over her mouth. Then he would take off her pants/underwear and touch her inappropriately with his hands and his genitals, but she reported there was never any penetration. The girl stated Oswalt would always molest her the same way.
The officer spoke with a woman who was living with Oswalt and the minor female during the time the minor stated she was molested by Oswalt.
Oswalt admitted there were significant periods of time that he was home with the woman and the minor.
Oswalt is being held on a bond of $15,250 surety and cash.
