Lindsey Batters Partially Paralyzed Wife
WARSAW — A physically handicapped woman, who is paralyzed on her right side, was transported to Kosciusko County Hospital covered in blood with a large laceration on her head. She reported the abuse was at the hands of her husband.
Michael K. Lindsey, 59, 2441 W. CR 250S, Warsaw, is being charged with a level 5 felony of domestic battery; a level 6 felony of domestic battery with moderate bodily injury and a class A misdemeanor of domestic battery.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, on July 5, an officer from the Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department met with Lindsey’s wife. She told the officer Lindsey had become angry with her (for unknown reasons). She told the officer she then went into the bedroom.
Lindsey’s wife reported that Lindsey rushed into the bedroom after her and began striking her with his closed fists multiple times. After he stopped hitting her and left the bedroom, Lindsey’s wife called the police. When he heard her calling he left the residence.
On July 8, an advocate with Kosciusko County Victim’s Assistance met with Lindsey’s wife and took photographs of her injuries. Lindsey’s wife had bruising on the right side of her face, bruising on both eyes, nose and neck, right forearm, upper arm, chest and a laceration above her left eye that required stitches to close. Her eye was extremely red and bloodshot. Lindsey’s wife told the woman the injuries were a result of her husband’s striking her multiple times with his fists.
Lindsey is being held on a $11,000 surety and cash bond.
