Hundt Steps Down As Bremen Baseball Coach
BREMEN – Bo Hundt has stepped down after a decade as the Bremen High School baseball coach.
Hundt guided the Lions to a 22-6 overall mark this past spring. Bremen also finished at 10-2 to finish second in the Northern Indiana Conference behind Penn. The Lions won the Class 2-A Westview Sectional championship before losing 4-3 to Hebron in the title game of the Whiting Regional.
Hundt, who was honored as the NIC Coach of the Year in 2016, is a 1993 Bremen High School graduate. He helped the Lions win a Class 1-A football state championship in 1989 and finished his outstanding prep career with 118 touchdowns and 6,031 yards rushing. He played in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system after being drafted in 1996 and is a member of the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.
Hundt was twice honored as the South Bend Tribune’s Athlete of the Year in both 1992 and 1993 while starring as a multi-sport athlete at BHS.
