Richard Gerren
Richard Gerren of Wolcottville, died July 14, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Ligonier, Jan. 8, 1938 to Ethel (Moore) and Oris Gerren. He grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Concord High School in 1956 and Elkhart University in 1957. In 1959, he married Patricia Grabill and later moved to Marion. He worked at Marion General Hospital for 41 years and managed the hospital blood bank. In 2006, he received the Victor H. Muller award for oustanding contribution and service to blood banking from the Indiana State Association of Blood Banks. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling to Myrtle Beach with his wife during the winter months.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Jeffery (Teri) of Duluth, Minn.; daughter, Karan Scigouski (George) of Howe; and four grandchildren: Rick, Molly, Christian and Samantha.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, his brother, James Gerren, and his daughter Jill.
A gathering of friends and family will be at the LaGrange American Legion from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, August 6.
Arrangements are conducted by Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center.
