Lowell K. Loucks
Lowell K. Loucks, 96, Elkhart, died 3:27 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at his home. He was born June 11, 1920, to Oliver and Anna (Weldy) Loucks. He married Evelyn F. (Canen) Loucks on June 15, 1941, and she died Oct. 29, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter: Sharon (Tom) Stutsman, Goshen; three grandchildren: Tim (Jill) Stutsman, Goshen; Anna (John) Rassi, Goshen; Alisa (Ryan) Pickering, Elkhart; eight great-grandchildren: Teagan; Erica; Titus; Bridgette Stutsman; Jayden; and Wyatt Rassi; Ashley; and Devin Pickering; siblings: Lamar Loucks, Elkhart; Kathryn Pletcher, Elkhart; and Jim Loucks, Nappanee. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife: Evelyn; and a sibling: Ruth Miller.
Lowell was a farmer and a member of the Olive Mennonite Church, where he served as a trustee. He was on the first fire department of Harrison Township. He was on the advisory board for Harrison Township for over 50 years. He loved fishing and raccoon hunting.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service on Tuesday, July 19, at Olive Mennonite Church, Elkhart. Burial will follow at Olive (West) Cemetery. Pastors Kevin and Sharon Yoder will officiate.
