Anne L. Barnes — UPDATED
Anne L. Barnes, 84, Larwill, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 in Miller’s Merry Manor at Oak Pointe, Columbia City.
She was born April 3, 1932 in Benton Harbor, Mich. to William and Eula Jane(Mortimore) Marzke.
She graduated Mentone High Scholl and attended Central High School where she received a nursing degree. She was united in marriage to Richard A. Barnes in Larwill Nov. 22, 1952. A Larwill resident since 1976, she was formerly of Pierceton. She was formerly employed by the Pierceton Nursing Home for 11 years, Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw for five years and Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City for five years retiring in 1982. She was member of New Hope Wesleyan Church, Columbia City.
Anne was a compassionate and caring nurse for many years.
Survivors include her husband Richard Barnes of Larwill; son, James (and spouse Marla) Barnes of St. Cloud, Fla.; four grandchildren: Tim Watson, Phoenix, Ariz.; Roxanne (and spouse David) Culver, San Antonio, Texas; Carrie (and spouse Josh) Phillips, Clermont, Fla.; and Cody Barnes of St Cloud, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Carolyn Watson and a brother Frank Marzke.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Jason Tash officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday July 17, at the funeral home.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, P.O. Box 1906, Warsaw, IN 46581-1906.
