Republican Caucus Set For Aug. 3
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Interim Kosciusko County Republican Chair Marsha McSherry has called a county-wide caucus of Republican Precinct Committeemen and Vice Committeemen for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3. The caucus will be held in the old courtroom in the county courthouse.
The purpose of the caucus will be the election of a new county chairman, following the July 7 resignation of Randy Girod.
Individuals interested in seeking the position of county chairman must file his/her candidacy with county Republican party secretary Christy Polk and state Republican secretary Barbara McClellan no later than 72 hours prior to the caucus. The candidacy is open to any registered Republican in good standing residing in Kosciusko County.
During the caucus all candidates will be given three minutes to speak to the precinct committeemen and vice committeemen. With 69 precincts in the county, there is a potential for 138 voters.
