Jacqueline Rose ‘Jackie’ Mann
Jacqueline Rose “Jackie” Mann, 86, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen. She was born on June 9, 1930, in Pierceton, to Louie John and Kathryn Lucille (Gawthrop) Nebro.
She graduated in 1948 from Syracuse High School and on May 26, 1966 in Goshen, she married Ray Alan Mann who preceded her in 1980. She was a lifetime Kosciusko and Elkhart County area resident except a few years in Kentucky and Washington D.C. She was a retired book keeper and formerly volunteered for a Domestic Violence Group for the Y.M.C.A. in Elkhart.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Elkhart and Moose Lodge in Goshen. She formerly attended the First United Methodist Church in Elkhart where she was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir for many years. She was a former member of the Optimist Club in Elkhart and was a mentor for children in several of the Elkhart County Schools.
She is survived by: Two Daughters, Michele (Larry) Lockhart, Syracuse, and Yvonne (Denny) Paff, Goshen; Son: Robert (Laura) Line, Cromwell; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; half Sister: Sherry (Denny) Riedel, Elkhart; half brother: Ted (Louise) Burson, Manistee, Mich.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, brother: John Nebro; and step brother: Robert Burson.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Sam Needham of the church officiating. Burial will be in McClintic Cemetery.
Memorial bequest may be given to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
