Sonora Charged Over Fight With Minors At Central Park
WARSAW — Lorena Mariana Sonora, 21, 416 Westfield Avenue, Goshen, is being charged with battery to a person less than fourteen years of age resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 3 felony and battery to a person less than fourteen years of age, a level 5 felony.
On June 19, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a fight in progress at Central Park in Warsaw. According to the affidavit of probable cause, when the officer arrived he observed “a large group physically fighting near the pier.” The officer was able to break the fight up and separate the people involved.
The officer spoke with witnesses on the scene who advised that Sonora, identified by her tattoos, had injured two minors during the fight.
Two minors were transferred to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. One minor complained of pain in her left arm and elbow and the other minor was diagnosed with a possible fracture to her growth plate in her lower left leg.
Sonora was held with a $10,250 bond of surety and cash.
