Dean Charged With Theft, Deception, Trespassing
WARSAW — Christopher Lee Dean, 25, 641 Walter Way, Warsaw, is being charged with a level 6 felony of theft; a level 6 felony of identity deception; a class A misdemeanor of criminal trespass and a Class B misdemeanor of unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.
On June 25, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to call about a suicidal subject with a handgun. Upon arriving, the property owners told the officers that Dean had sent their daughter a text message with an image of a handgun. The property owners also advised that they had dropped Dean off at his residence earlier in the day.
The officers began searching for Dean and found him still on the property, in the woods with a campfire. Dean produced an Indiana identification card that belonged to a Matthew Hoshal. The residents then advised the officers that Dean often uses that name and was given a trespass warning on May 29, 2016.
On June 30, officers spoke with the residents again who advised that their daughter was moving away with Dean. The residents told Dean that he was not to use their Jeep or take any of the daughters belongings. Officers at the scene found Dean parked in his own vehicle away from the residents with a laptop, camera and spare Jeep keys belonging to the daughter.
Dean is being held on a $500 bond.
