Samuel H. Mishler
Samuel H. “Sam” Mishler, 70, Syracuse, passed away at 7:52 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at IU Goshen Hospital in Goshen. He was born Aug. 29, 1945 in Nappanee, to Harvey J. & Leatha E. (Miller) Mishler.
He grew up in Nappanee, attended public schools in Nappanee, and lived most of his life in the Syracuse area. He was married March 22, 1970 in Syracuse, to Roberta J. “Bert” Vanette who survives. He retired from Rinker Boat Company in Syracuse after 18 years and formerly worked at Sea Nymph Boat Company in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife: Bert Mishler, Syracuse; his daughter: Rose (Matt) Boger, Auburn; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four sisters: Betty Borkholder, Goshen; Arlene Hershberger, Elkhart; Sharon (Verton) Coblentz, Goshen; and Carolyn (Enos) Yoder, Goshen; three brothers: Wayne (Mary Ellen) Mishler, Goshen; Steve (Sue) Mishler, Goshen; and LaMar Mishler, Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
