NORTH WEBSTER — Mark’s Ark live animal show returns to the North Webster Community Public Library with performances at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 1.
The morning show is geared toward preschool through first grade while the afternoon show will appeal to older children. Animal handler Mark Kohlhorst brings his live animal friends for a hands-on learning encounter as he teaches about all kinds of animals. Since this popular event always draws a big crowd, the two performances will enhance the experience for all ages. If your child is participating in the Summer Reading Program, bring their Reading Passports to get stamped for extra credit toward prizes.
Main on Main Comedy Improv Troupe always draws a big crowd and will perform their Comedy Night routine at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, in the North Webster Community Center banquet hall. Enjoy an evening of laughs and good, clean fun in this hilarious, library-sponsored event open to the public.
Laughter is usually heard during make-and-take card class as participants enjoy the camaraderie of learning to make greeting cards together. Jan Biehl teaches the class at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7. Advance registration is needed along with a $7 class fee that includes all your cardmaking supplies. Sign up at the circulation desk or call (574) 834-7122 to get in on the fun.
More fun will be had during Friday Family Food and Fun with time slots available at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Friday July 8. Kids and their families will learn about the Olympics games as they move through four stations of activities and snack. Pre-registration is required to attend, so stop by the youth services desk to sign up or call (574) 834-7122 ext. 202 to reserve your spot.
No registration is needed for the second Saturday Lego Club from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Bring the kids and enjoy some freestyle Leto building. You will be amazed at their creativity and the designs they come up with. It’s a good way for kids to develop eye-hand coordination and problem solving skills. The library provides the Legos. An adult should accompany children under age 9.
Planning a road trip this summer? Take along some audio books to listen to in the car. The library has a large selection and many new titles by popular authors. Try listening to audio books while doing chores, too. It seems to make those tedious jobs go faster. Stop in and browse our collection.
