Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:49 p.m. Thursday, June 30, East Gault Street west of South Green Street, Atwood. Driver: Elizabeth J. Howard, 82, East Main Street, Atwood. Howard became distracted and her vehicle left the road, went down an embankment and hit a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
9:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, West CR 1200N west of North CR 500W, Nappanee. Driver: Nicole M. Morrison, 20, East Indiana Ave., Nappanee. The left front tire on Morrison’s vehicle blew and the vehicle veered into a ditch. Morrison jumped from the vehicle before it landed in the ditch. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:39 a.m. Friday, July 1, South Buffalo Street south of East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Seth A. Hoffman, 16, East CR 400N, Rochester, and Jacob D. Hurlock, 24, South Buckeye Street, Kokomo. Hoffman became drowsy and his vehicle rear-ended Hurlock’s vehicle, which had stopped in traffic. Damage up to $2,500.
9:26 a.m. Friday, July 1, South Lincoln Street and East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sheila Aguilar, 48, North Second Street, Leesburg, and Robert W. Garrett, 64, Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Aguilar and Garrett were both stopped at the intersection and both proceeded at the same time. Both drivers’ line of vision was obstructed by a large utility vehicle parked nearby and they collided. Damage up to $2,500.
3:14 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 3660 Commerce Drive, Warsaw. An unknown vehicle collided with a parked car belonging to Bryan C. Mendenhall, West CR 525S, Claypool. Store security footage caught a blue sport utility vehicle back out of the next space, striking Mendenhall’s vehicle. A female exited the vehicle, inspected the damage, then drove off. Store employees were not able to provide identification for the female. Damage up to $2,500.
