Warsaw Issues Trash Tote Reminder
WARSAW — The City of Warsaw Public Works Department has issued the following statement pertaining to local trash pickup:
“The Warsaw Public Works Department continues to assist residents with the new automated curbside waste program.
From the onset of the program, we have and will continue to work with the residents with concerns regarding obstacles or restrictions. As always, we can assist residents who may have physical restrictions and need extra help. This might also include exchanging for a smaller 64-gallon tote. For assistance, call the Public Works Department at (574) 372-9561.
Some totes are being left at the curbside after they have been emptied. The ordinance states that the totes are to be curbside at 7 a.m. on the designated day(s) for trash and/or recycle pickup and are to be removed by 7 a.m. the next morning. We would ask that everyone respect the appearance of their neighborhoods by removing those carts from the curb per the ordinance. We are working to collect carts that do not appear to have been used. We will also begin to tag totes that are not removed in a timely fashion. Eventually, if city-owned totes are not used as specified by the ordinance, they may be removed.
Also as a reminder, the city will now pickup all yard waste in the alley.”
