Terry L. Warner
Terry L. Warner, 61, a resident of rural Churubusco in Allen County, passed away at 8:42 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at his home. He had been in declining health since September.
Terry was born in Cuba, N.Y., on Aug. 1, 1954, a son of Marvin and Marian (Linderman) Warner, and moved to the Woodburn-area as a child with his parents. He spent his formative years in that area and graduated from Woodland High School in 1973. Employed for Shambaugh and Son, Inc., Fort Wayne, for 45 years, he last worked as the service manager of their fire protection division.
A member of Union Local 669, he was a quarter horse enthusiast and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. In his leisure time he enjoyed raising and showing quarter horses, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on the farm near Woodburn as a youth. Most importantly he loved and cherished his family, and was a friend to all who knew him.
On Dec. 31, 1993, he was married in Columbia City to Jean (Broadwater) Felger. She survives.
The other surviving relatives include four children: Jennifer (Dave) Peters; and Tabitha (Vincent) Bane, both of Churubusco; and Tim (Erica) Warner; and Cindy (Ryan) Wiersema, both of Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren; and his best friend: Tom Vergens, Fort Wayne. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco, with Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Fellowship of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, or one hour prior to the service.
