Arthur ‘Tom’ Wilson Spencer
Arthur “Tom” Wilson Spencer, 89, Milford, passed away on June 26, 2016. He was a veteran, patriot and devout servant to the Lord. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in the Pacific theatre, to include operations on the Japanese island of Okinawa. His legacy and example extends to all the members of his family and the young children, Tom and his wife Fran, spent countless hours mentoring in youth groups over 40 years of their adult lives. He was a part of the “greatest generation”, who sacrificed all for God, country and family. He will long be remembered for his sacrificial love, stern leadership and unwavering principles.
Born May 29, 1927, Tom Spencer is survived by his wife: Frances Spencer; his daughter: Beth (Dennis) Couture; grandsons: Jason Stover; Spencer Lentz; Ryan Couture; Casey Couture; and granddaughter: Christen Couture. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Kalynn Stover; Joshua Stover; Jack Stover; Ava Couture; Makenzie Wilkinson; Julia Stover; Bella Reed; Connor Couture; Addisyn Pettit; Tessa Lentz; and Cecilia Couture. Recently, he had just become a great-great-grandfather to Tucker Ray Stowe, born the last week of his amazing life.
We will all miss Tom. He was our mentor, our patriarch and one of the greatest men we ever knew. Heaven is blessed to receive his soul and we have all been blessed to have had him in our lives.
A funeral will be held at noon Thursday, June 30, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford, with the graveside service to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Milford.
Friends and family will be received for visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 30, at the funeral home in Milford.
