Susanna Voreis
Susanna Voreis, 84, rural Plymouth, passed away at 11:21 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, in her home after an illness.
Susanna was born on Oct. 25, 1931, the daughter of Earl and Chloe (O’Connor) McGriff, in Argos. She was a homemaker and had been Attendance Secretary for the Plymouth High School from which she retired. She was a lifelong resident; member of the Order of Eastern Starr; Pretty Lake United Methodist Church and was a graduate from Culver High School, class of 1948.
On Aug. 13, 1949, she married Darl Voreis, Jr. at Culver; he died Oct. 3, 1990.
She is survived by her companion: Donald Kline; daughter: Darla Zanini, Washington D.C.; three sons: Douglas (Tam) Voreis, Hacketstown, N.J.; and their children: Nathaniel; Alexander; and Elliot; Kevin (Dawn) Voreis, Chicago, Ill.; and their daughter: Chloe; and Dr. Kent (Phyllis) Voreis, Grosseile, Mich.; and their children: Jon Paul; and Victoria; along with their children: Easton; and Brooke. Susanna was preceded in passing by her parnets; husband; two sisters: Virginia Yeich; and Laura Wynn; three brothers: Lester McGriff; William McGriff; and Thomas Reed.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is caring for the Voreis family. Funeral services in honor of Susanna will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Pastor Tamara Boggs of the Pretty Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
A time of visiting with the Voreis family will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
The Voreis family request memorial contributions be made in her memory to The Parkinson’s Foundation, Miami, Fla.
