James E. ‘Jim’ Hyde-UPDATED
James E. “Jim” Hyde, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 5:34 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in his home. He was born May 13, 1943, in Warsaw, to Ira Lee Hyde and Lillian Morean Beatty.
Jim was a lifetime Warsaw area resident. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and entered into active service on Dec. 8, 1969, at Fort Hood, Texas. He served as both a personnel clerk and in vehicle maintenance. E-4 James Eugene Hyde was honorably discharged from Fort Dix, N.J., on Dec. 11, 1975. He also worked for Warsaw Foundry.
He loved to fish and hunt. He was a member of the NRA, North American Hunting Club, and attended Early Apostolic Bible Training Center. He enjoyed watching Bonanza and Gunsmoke on channel 244.
He is survived by his companion of 42 years: Karen Heeter, Warsaw; three daughters: Lynn (Mike) Minick, Indianapolis; Kay Brooks, Peru; and Rosie (Scott) Cothran, Orange, Texas; a son: Russell Heeter, Warsaw; a sister: Carolyn Pratt, Warsaw; two brothers: Charles Hyde, Warsaw; and Ira Hyde Jr., Warsaw; many grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his four-legged protector: Jo-Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ira Hyde Sr.; and Lillian Hyde; a brother: Robert Hyde; and three sisters: Janice Smith; Dorothy Hyde; and Brenda Hyde.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 28, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral service will take place at noon, Tuesday, June 28, in the funeral home with Pastor Dean Ealey of Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, Claypool, and Pastor Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside honors conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
