Police: Austin Woman Attacks Boyfriend With Cheese Grater
AUSTIN, TEXAS — Police found an Austin man with cuts and scrapes all over his body following an attack with a cheese grater, according to an arrest affidavit.
Austin Police arrested 27-year-old Ankitha Gadag for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon June 18. In addition to the cheese grater, Gadag also wielded a knife, police said.
According to the affidavit, Gadag committed the assault after her significant other tried to end their relationship. Gadag first assaulted the victim with the cheese grater in his apartment bathroom and then threw the object at him in the living room, the affidavit states.
When police found the victim, he had “numerous scratches and cuts all over his body,” according to the affidavit. “He was shirtless, and the scratches and cuts ranged everywhere from his under arms, forearms and pectoral areas. They were all red and swollen.”
Gadag also grabbed a knife and cut the victim near his left hand during the struggle, police said. The victim told police that Gadag locked herself in a bedroom after the assault, and she called 911, according to the affidavit.
Gadag has been charged with a second-degree felony.
