Gertrude Mae Kiser — UPDATED
Gertrude Mae “Gertie” Kiser, 88, Pierceton, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Mason Healthcare and Rehab in Warsaw. She was born on Jan. 2, 1928 in Warsaw to Richard & Naomi (Koontz) Snell.
She was a lifetime Warsaw, North Webster, and Pierceton area resident and graduated in 1946 from Warsaw High School. On June 1, 1947 in Warsaw, she married S. Howard Kiser who preceded July 24, 2004. She was a homemaker and a self-employed accomplished artist. She formerly was employed as a telephone operator in Warsaw AND North Webster, G & W Pizza in Syracuse, M & M Restaurant/Clarksville Shops in North Webster, and Peddlers Village in Goshen.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in North Webster and the Lakeland Art Association.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary (Dave) Hartup, Pierceton; three sons: Steve (Alesia) Kiser, Fort Myers, Fla.; Bill (Angie) Kiser, Mout Airy, Ga.; and J. Lloyd (Ruth) Kiser, Churubusco; her son in law: Russell Adams, North Webster; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Sandra Adams; two sisters: Lila Robinson and Mary Mercer; and two brothers: Bruce and Earl Snell.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Waits of the Rock Run Church of the Brethren in Goshen officiating. Private family burial will take place in the North Webster Cemetery.
