Thomas Lee Milton, Sr.
Thomas Lee Milton, Sr., 62, Columbia City, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, June 18, 2016. He had been in failing health.
He was born May 4, 1954 in Fort Wayne, a son of Thomas Howard and Dorla (Stout) Milton. His formative years were spent in Fort Wayne where he attended Fort Wayne Lutheran Schools. The family then moved to Big Lake, Noble County and he graduated from Central Noble High School in 1972.
On June 24, 1972, he was united in marriage to Deborah Ann Garard. They made their home at Big Lake.
For 30 years he worked for Weatherhead, Dana, CF Gomma in Columbia City as a maintenance mechanic. He retired from CF Gomma in 2003.
Following his retirement, he and his wife split their time between Big Lake and Lake Josephine, Fla.
He was an avid fisherman, often accompanied by his wife; he cherished his time on the water. He loved his time with his son and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah; a son: Thomas Lee (Angie Hull) Milton, Jr., Columbia City; his grandchildren: Abbigale and Andrew Milton; five step-brothers: Robert Jahn, Columbia City; Scott Jahn, Fort Wayne; Randy Jahn, Columbia City; Steve Jahn, Fort Wayne; and Terry Jahn, Fort Wayne; a half sister: Amy Jahn, Columbia City; and a half-brother, Tim Jahn, Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorla Jahn.
A visitation is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday June 23 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
