Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
2:29 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at South SR 15, south of West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Cristi Wakefield, 32, Stitt Street, Wabash, and Kelli J. Hepler, 45, Edgewood Drive, Warsaw. Wakefield and Hepler were driving in opposite directions when Wakefield’s driver’s side mirror struck Hepler’s driver’s side mirror. Damage up to $2,500.
1:37 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at North SR 13 and East CR 150N, Warsaw. Driver: Sheila M. Sauers, 25, West Smith Street, South Whitley. Sauers was driving a motorcycle; when she applied the front brake she lost control of the motorcycle. Damage up to $2,500. Sauers suffered abrasions.
7:22 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at West CR 800N and North 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Paul K. Browder, 50, West CR 200N, Columbia City. Browder drove off the road and hit a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
5:38 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at East CR 1300N and North CR 150E, Milford. Driver: Dustin S. Jansma, 25, North CR 450E, Leesburg. Jansma swerved his vehicle to miss a deer, but lost control of his vehicle and hit a NIPSCO pole. Damage up to $25,000.
7:32 p.m. Friday, June 17, at West US 30, west of North CR 800W, Atwood. Drivers: Reyna X. Carballo, 22, West Walnut, Nappanee, and Julie A. Boyd, 40, West 10th Street, Michigan City. Carballo was switching lanes to make a turn, but didn’t see Boyd’s vehicle behind her. Boyd’s vehicle struck the rear-side passenger door of Carballo’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000. Both vehicles were still able to be driven from the scene. Boyd had a juvenile passenger in her vehicle, who was checked by medics, but further treatment was refused.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:05 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at 11374 N. SR 13, Syracuse. Driver: Brenda K. Ball, Ball drove off the road and hit a parked car in a parking lot. After she applied her brakes she ended up striking a rock pillar. Damage up to $25,000.
11:32 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at CR 300E, north of Bowser Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Joshua R. Armstrong, 24, South 15th Street, Niles, Mich., and Jon Miller, 74, CR 35, Middleburry. Armstrong drove over the center line causing a two-vehicle sideswipe. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:40 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at 315 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. Driver: Casey M. Dunn, 19, Oakwood Drive, Warsaw. Dunn’s vehicle made a too-wide turn into a local restaurant parking lot and struck a juvenile on a skateboard. Damage under $750. The juvenile was not injured and needed no medical attention, but the skateboard suffered damage.
2:11 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at South Detroit Street and East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa K. Leal, 19, North CR 300E, Milford, and Jose C. Lopez, 53, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Leal rea-ended Lopez. Damage up to $2,500.
