Whitko Girls Basketball: Wildcats Win Shootout At The Pit
NAPPANEE — For those having withdrawals from basketball season, the NBA Finals has been quite the entertainment. On a more local level, teams have been getting their fix by playing in summer tournaments the past few weeks.
On Wednesday the Whitko girls basketball team picked up boost in confidence by winning the NorthWood Shootout.
After handily beating Portage and Logansport, the Wildcats came back from a 35-25 deficit by going on a 19-0 run to beat the host Panthers 46-40 in the pool championship. In the cross pool-championship, Whitko beat Oregon-Davis 60-33 to win the shootout.
Columbia City beat NorthWood in the third place game by one point. Portage topped LaVille for fifth and South Bend Riley beat Logansport for seventh.
