Grossman Earns Kettlebell Instructor Certification
WARSAW – Susie Grossman culminated the end of a two-year training program by successfully earning her Strong First kettlebell instructor certification.
The weekend consisted of ten-hour workdays using a 35-lb kettlebell. The true challenge for participants came at the end of the weekend when each participant was required to complete a 5-minute snatch test using the 35 lb kettlebell. The test consisted of completing 100 snatches (overhead movement) within five minutes.
The certification, also called the “Dome of Strength” brought high caliber teachers from around the world including master instructors from Italy and Prague. The Strong First organization is headed by Pavel Tsatsouline who is the pioneer of US based kettlebell training. The SFG kettlebell instructor certification is considered one of the most challenging and high quality certifications available.
Grossman’s impressive accomplishment comes on the heels of her recent kidney donor surgery in August 2015.
“I also feel as if meeting and obtaining this challenge after donating my kidney last fall is a way to show other people that being a donor doesn’t have to impede your life,” said Grossman, who is the owner of Secret Fitness Studio in Warsaw. “Being a kidney donor hasn’t hurt my performance in any way, and I hope that others who are considering donation will be encouraged to do so,” she said.
“I put a lot of work into my training plan and am very pleased about finally earning my certification. My success is validation that my training methods work, and I couldn’t be happier.”
