Lewallen Arrested For Theft
WARSAW — Brittney Michelle Lewallen, 23, 55216 Glenn Road, South Bend, was arrested Friday, June 10, for a level 6 felony of sentence enhancement theft.
Warsaw Police Officer Brian Hupp responded to theft that had taken place at a Warsaw pharmacy. When Warsaw Police Officer Ryan Moore arrived, he talked to the manager of the pharmacy, who reported a theft of 22 bottles of alcohol by two females Saturday, Feb. 6.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the pharmacy surveillance video showed one female taking and failing to pay for three bottles of Bacardi, one bottle of Crown Royal and four bottles of Hennessy, a total value of $207.92.
The video also shows the other female taking and failing to pay for five bottles of Grey Goose, two bottles of Bacardi and seven bottles of Crown Royal, a total value of $525.86.
Moore reported he spoke with a South Bend police officer, who was investigating a similar theft in South Bend involving the two female suspects. The South Bend officer was able to identify one of the females on the surveillance video and jail booking photos as Lewallen.
Lewallen has two previous conviction in a St. Joseph County Court and currently has two pending, level 6 felonies for theft. She also has one pending level 6 felony case for theft in Elkhart County.
Lewallen is being held on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
