Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
1:47 p.m. Friday, June 10, South Old 30 west of SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Micheal S. Wright, 20, East Van Buren Street, Columbia City. Wright’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
5:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, North SR 15 north of West CR 600N, Leesburg. Drivers: Joshua L. Harris, 32, North Perry Drive, Milford, and Paul L. Miller, 28, US Highway 20, Middlebury. Harris’s vehicle crossed center and collided with Miller’s oncoming vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:19 p.m. Sunday, June 12, East Sheridan Street wast of North Maple Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Jeffrey N. Bryant, 29, North Roosevelt Street, Warsaw. Bryant swerved to miss a rabbit and his vehicle crossed center, went off the road and hit a tree. Bryant complained of head pain. Damage up to $10,000.
5:30 p.m.Sunday, June 12, North Detroit Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Driver: Diana L. Rhoades, 70, Bluewater Drive, Warsaw. Rhoades proceeded into the intersection and her vehicle struck a pedestrian, Jodi K. Gilbert, 50, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Gilbert was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of pain in her right ankle and ribs and had light abrasions on the palms of her hands. Both Rhoades and Gilbert stated a large truck blocked their view of one another. The driver of the truck, David Nilsen, Tripple Road, Rockford, Ill., and a second witness both confirmed this account. Damage under $750.
12:44 p.m. Saturday, June 11, North Detroit Street and West CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Randy E. Scheffer Jr., 39, South Locke Street, Nappanee, Keith L. Lowe, 52, North Runkle Drive, Warsaw, and Tony L. Holland, 49, Walnut Street, Frankton. Scheffer became distracted and his vehicle rear-ended Lowe’s at the red light, pushing it into Holland’s vehicle. A passenger in Lowe’s vehicle, Rebecca Lowe, 52, East Burkhart Drive, Warsaw, was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of back, head and arm pain. Holland complained of back and neck pain but declined EMS treatment. A passenger in Holland’s vehicle, Annistacia Holland, 52, East Walnut Street, Frankton, complained of neck, wrist and knee pain but also declined EMS treatment. Scheffer was issued a citation. Damage up to $5,000.
