Ashmore Hired On As Volleyball Coach
WARSAW – Warsaw Community High School athletics has selected Rick Ashmore as the next volleyball coach, pending school board approval at this June’s board meeting.
Ashmore has coached a number of programs in both Indiana and Michigan, compiling over 850 wins as a head coach. Founder of the Dunes Volleyball Club in 1989, a non-profit organization serving youth players, he also started the Dunes Operation Center in Michigan City in 2005.
Prior to starting this business, he was the recreation director for Michigan City Parks and Recreation for 25 years. Ashmore has worked with a number of former players that have gone on to successful collegiate playing careers, including a large number that eventually entered coaching at the collegiate and high school levels.
Ashmore has two children: Jamie, who played volleyball at Grand Valley State and is the current Indiana University South Bend head coach; and Levi, who works in the music business in Los Angeles.
