Jean is remembered well as the school nurse at West Noble School Corporation. She served as the school nurse for over 25 years beginning in the 1960s. During this time she also worked on the family dairy farm in Cromwell and raised a beautiful family. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and formerly a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church. After retirement, she and her husband lived in Sebring, Fla. for many years enjoying every day like the vacation that dairy farmer’s life never allows. While in Florida she remained very active as a volunteer nurse for hospice as well as in the church thrift shop. Lastly, Jean was very proud of the fact that all five of her adult children graduated from Purdue. Go Boilermakers!
A memorial service in Jean’s honor is planned to be held on Saturday, July 30, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cromwell, or St. John Lutheran Church, Kendallville. Yeager Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
