James A. Addis
James A. Addis, 64, Churubusco, passed away at 5:26 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at home in Green Township.
Mr. Addis was born on June 2, 1952 in Wolf Lake, a son of John Franklin and Marie (Claxton) Addis, Sr.. He spent his formative years in Churubusco, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1971.
After high school he was married to Rose Marie Walters on June 5, 1971, in Whitley County. She preceded in him in death on March 4, 1995.
On Aug. 14, 2007 he was married in Green Township to Caroline (Ertel) Meyer.
He was employed at Dexter Axel, Albion, and retired in 2013 after 30 Years. He also worked for Seyfert’s Food 8 years and American Tool & Engineering, in Fort Wayne for 2 years.
Mr. Addis was a member of Gilbert Davis American Legion post 157, Churubusco.
The surviving relatives include wife: Caroline Addis, Churubusco; two daughers: April (Daniel) Wolf, Columbia City; and Sheila (Rodney) Ehinger, Churubusco; two step-sons: Michael (Missy) Schott, Garrett and Jason Schott, Albion; two sisters: Lora (Elvin “Bud”) Bridegan, Churubusco; and Grace Slater, Largo, Fla.; a brother: Jerry (Gloria) Addis, Churubusco; sister-in-law: Nancy Addis, Churubusco; ten grandchildren; and one great grandson.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother: John F. Addis, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Aaron Peer, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral HomeĀ from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, or one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam at a later date.
