Hall Sentenced On Residential Entry
WARSAW — Mitchell Patrick Hall, 44, 920 Anchorage Road, Warsaw, was sentenced sentenced today, Thursday, June 9, in Superior Court I for residential entry, a level 6 felony. His other charge of intimidation was dismissed.
Hall will serve 2 1/2 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with 1 1/2 years of that sentence suspended and served on probation. As a condition of Hall’s probation he must have an assessment taken with the alcohol and drug program and follow their recommendations. Hall also was given five days jail-time credit.
Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Brad Voelz stated Hall is, “profoundly addicted to, very likely, many terrible substances and I know he wants help and I know he wants the court to provide that help … Mr. Hall is going to have to take some initiative and understand the problem is his … stop blaming his life … his criminal history, on the use of those drugs.” Voelz went on to ask the judge for the maximum sentence.
Hall told the court he wanted to apologize to the victim and, ” … hope tomorrow I’ll be a better person than I am today.”
Kosciusko Superior Court Judge Dave Cates told Hall, “You indicate you’re a good person when you’re sober. I believe that … looking at your criminal history, you haven’t spent a lot of time sober.”
