Hawaii Woman Accused Of Killing Twin By Driving Off Cliff
Alexandria Duval pleaded not guilty in a Maui courtroom on Monday, June 6.
Police say she was driver of an SUV. Her sister was a passenger in the car. They say she drove the SUV off a cliff in May, which killed her sister.
Court document show that the car’s computer systems indicate Duval did not attempt to brake before the crash.
Witnesses told police that the two sisters were arguing before the crash.
Police believe Duval tried to leave Hawaii last week, but apparently missed her flight.
Authorities arrested her on Friday, June 3. Her attorneys say she was leaving to attend her sister’s funeral in New York. They also say that Duval was not trying to hurt herself or her sister.
The sisters opened two Twin Power Yoga studios in Florida under the names Alison and Ann Dadow.
The two abruptly closed their studios in 2014. The sisters then re-surfaced in Utah, where they later claimed bankruptcy, citing hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt.
They were reported to have relocated to Hawaii several months ago. The twins were arrested for disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening on Maui on Dec. 24, 2015. They failed to appear for court proceedings and bench warrants were issued.
