Cowan, Berger Earn ‘Spotlight On Excellence’ Gold Award
WARSAW — Kosciusko REMC receives a gold award in the 2016 “Spotlight on Excellence” national awards program through the work of Emily Cowan, manager of marketing and member services and Katy Berger, energy advisor.
Last year, KREMC worked with 212 Media of Warsaw to produce an educational film for their members. The intention was to educate KREMC members and the community about severe weather outages and what happens at the cooperative when an outage occurs. It is an accurate depiction of the events that occur in the office and out in the field when a storm strikes. The film has been recognized by the Council of Rural Electric Communicators and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Cowan and Berger went head to head with over 700 other entries. Professors from accredited schools of journalism and marketing along with top communication professionals judged the entries and have awarded KREMC the gold “Spotlight on Excellence” award.
The film can be viewed on the cooperative’s website, www.kremc.com.
Kosciusko REMC is a Touchstone Energy electric cooperative serving over 17,500 accounts throughout Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
