Lake City Skiers Begin 2016 Season
WARSAW — The Lake City Skiers held their first show of the season this past Sunday, June 5 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw. This season marks the 27th year that the Lake City Skiers have performed, for free, for the public.
“The show went pretty good. It always takes a little time for everyone to learn the show each year,” said Chuck McLaughlin, Lake City Skiers vice president. “The flow and coordination of the show will improve greatly over the next couple of weeks. I think it’s going to be a very successful season just from the level of talent that the team demonstrated last night.”
The Lake City Skiers perform a themed one-hour show complete with an intermission. This year their show is a comical performance based around the Skiers of Hazard County. Audience members can expect a show full of jumps, pyramids, ballet lines and a lot of barefoot skiing.
The shows are free to the public and held at 6:30 p.m. most Tuesdays and Sundays through the summer. A full schedule can be found on their website. Hidden Lake is located behind Smith Tire at State road 15 and US 30.
In addition to offering shows to the public, Lake City Skiers is always looking for new members or any experience to join their team.
“The one thing that we would like to have is more members so that we could put more people on the water for an even better spectator appeal,” said McLaughlin.
