Thomas J. “Jay” Clutter
Thomas J. “Jay” Clutter, 75, Venice, Fla., formerly of North Webster, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at his home in Venice, Fla.
He was born Oct. 7, 1940 in Warsaw to Clayton William and Alma LaVerne (Felix) Clutter.
He graduated in 1958 from North Webster High School, was a United States Navy veteran and a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident until moving to Venice two years ago after wintering there for several years.
On June 21, 1968, in North Webster, he married Judith K. “Judy” (Hamman) Hostetler, who survives. He formerly owned and operated the Joyland Trailer Park in North Webster, Clutter Custom Digging and Ye Old Pub Lounge, North Webster.
He was a member of North Webster Church of the Brethren, American Legion Post 253, North Webster, and Moose Lodge in Venice and was a life member of the VFW in Venice. He was a former member of the VFW in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Clutter, North Webster; a sister, Joyce Logan, Pacific Grove, Calif.; a brother, John (Delores) Clutter, Fort Wayne; four nephews: Clayton Clutter, David Tracy, Daniel Tracy and Ken Hamman; and two nieces: Dyanne Tracy, Michelle Brandt and Barb Marose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, John Hostetler, sister, Judy Tracy, and brother, Bill Clutter.
Memorial services will be held in North Webster at a later date. Burial will take place in the Mock addition of North Webster Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
