Rebecca Ruth Ruyle
Rebecca Ruth Ruyle, 60, Columbia City, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born July 10, 1957, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of Rev. George C. and Yolanda (Milioni) Ruyle. She attended Robert Burns Elementary School, Detroit, and started high school in Canada.
Her family moved to Columbia City in 1974 and she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1975. Becky received her bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Mo., masters in education from Indiana University, associate’s in nursing and health science from Purdue University and masters of health science from St. Francis University.
She began her 26 years of employment with Whitley County Memorial Hospital, which became Parkview Whitley Hospital. In 2007, she became a CNA instructor at Ivy Tech until August, 2013.
Her church membership was with Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
A sister in Christ to many, she is survived by her brother, Timothy C. Ruyle, Roseville Mich.; two nieces and three nephews; three great-nieces and four great-nephews; and her friend and caretaker, Jan Robson, Columbia City.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A celebration of life service will take place at noon Saturday, June 18, at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Columbia City, with the receiving of friends after 11 a.m. Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to Faith Christian Academy or Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
