Joyce L. Peach-UPDATED
Joyce L. Peach, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born on June 3, 1934, in Florence, Ala., to Charles A. and Lola Mae (Hubbard) Freshour.
She attended public schools in Savannah, Tenn., where she lived until she was 16 years old, and then her family moved to Marion. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at RCA and Foster Forbes in Marion. After she was married she settled in Fairmount, until she moved to the North Webster/Warsaw area permanently in 1978 after coming to Barbee Lake since 1969. She also wintered in Clearwater, Fla., for many years. She was married in 1951, to William Clem and they divorced. In 1959, she was married to Charles C. Peach who preceded her on April 15, 2003.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 253 Auxiliary in North Webster and Elks Lodge in Largo, Fla. Past president and member of the American Legion Post 313 Auxiliary in Fairmount, past member of the Lakeland Kiwanis Club in North Webster, and past member of the Red Hat Ladies Club in Syracuse.
She is survived by two sons: Hon. Judge Thomas L. (Carla) Clem, Pendleton; and Charles S. (Doris) Peach, Nappanee; two sisters: Laura Mae Tinkel, Marion; and identical twin Lois Gulley, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Christina (Wes) Gerber, Yorktown; Nathan (Holly) Clem, Bolivar, Mo.; Debbie (Scott) Sweany, Salem; Tami (Kevin) Brechnew, Fishers; Julie (Dan) Wuthrich, New Paris; and Mitchel (Jaime) Hollar, Milford; as well as 16 great-grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews; and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters: Lizzie Evelyn Jones; Lorraine Freshour; and Lavern Taylor; six brothers: Lincoln Freshour; Lee Freshour; Lester Freshour; Leonard Freshour; Lindzy J. “L.J.” Freshour; and Lonnie Freshour.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, in the funeral home with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
