WARSAW – With the IHSAA state golf tournament just days away, Warsaw and NorthWood got in a chance to square off against one another Wednesday afternoon.
Warsaw posted a sparkling 304, its lowest 18-hole score of the season, at Rozella Ford Golf Club to best NorthWood’s respectable 320 in a 18-round dual for the Northern Lakes Conference rivals. Rozella serves as the site for the Warsaw Boys Golf Sectional, which will take place Friday.
Sam Yeager, Michael Jensen and Luke Delp all posted season-low scores for the Tigers. Yeager led the way at 73, just three over par, with Jensen one back at 74 and Delp at 75.
Jacob LaLonde and Luke Johnson each shot 82 and Tommy Meier and Tim Rata came in with 83s.
NorthWood did not report its scores from the match.
Warsaw will be among the 12-team field as host of the sectional at Rozella Friday morning while NorthWood will take part in the 12-team Northridge Sectional at Meadow Valley Golf Club in Middlebury, also on Friday morning.
