John Lewis Lloyd
John Lewis Lloyd, 70, Fort Myers, Fla., and Warsaw, went to be with the Lord May 23, 2016, at his home in Warsaw. He had been in failing health for some time.
He was born Sept. 4, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minn., where he spent his formative years pursuing a career of sales and marketing. On June 1, 1991, he married his wife, Donna, who survives, and in 1997 they both began their second careers in foreign missions.
They served in Tanzania, East Africa, Uzbekistan, Istanbul, Turkey, and many short-term missions before returning to the United States to local ministry. He had a passion for sharing God’s word through teaching, discipling and developing teaching material for the gospel’s sake. He never tired of sharing Christ, especially to those dear souls at Villa Palms Retirement Hme. He loved fishing and he loved his grandchildren and taught them all how to fish. He loved and was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two daughters: Carolyn; and Shelby (Mike) Naibauer; two stepsons: Doug; and Matt (Cara) Smith; his honorary daughter: Christine Wicker; nine grandchildren: Callie; Sasha; Courtney; Code; Chase; Bailey; Derrick; Kendall; and Kami; a great-grandson: Chance; as well as his siblings: Barbara (Lloyd) Nelson; Virginia (Dean) Winslow; William Lloyd; and Randall (Toni) Lloyd.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Christ Covenant Church. Calling is on hour prior and one hour after the service.
Memorials will be directed to foreign/local missions as determined by family. Contributors will be notified of the distributions.
