NLC Issues Baseball, Softball All-NLC
GOSHEN – With sectionals out of the way across the state, the Northern Lakes Conference Tuesday morning issued its lists for All-NLC winners in baseball and softball.
In baseball, co-champions Plymouth and Warsaw were well-represented. Both teams finished at 10-4 in a top-heavy conference that had NorthWood and Northridge tie for third at 9-5 overall.
Warsaw had Sterling Hay, Marselo Rodriguez, Zach Witt and Jordan Jones all earned All-NLC and the duo of Henry Howard and Braxton Tennant take Honorable Mention All-NLC. Braydon Davidson, Caleb Mikesell and Spencer Maecroft were All-NLC for Plymouth with Cam Eveland and George Stults both Honorable Mention All-NLC for the Pilgrims.
Plymouth head coach Ryan Wolfe was tabbed as the Northern Lakes Conference Coach of the Year.
NorthWood had Tanner Cleveland, Vincent Herschberger, Drew Minnich and Chad Sellers as All-NLC and Payton Bear Honorable Mention All-NLC. Northridge had Andrew Kennedy, Camm Nickell and Eric Burgess as All-NLC and Matt Miller Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Goshen (7-7) had Michael Pinarski and James Paetkau as All-NLC and Connor Glick as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Memorial and Concord both finished 5-9, the Chargers having Lane Schultz and Justin Walter as All-NLC and Brett Wilson Honorable Mention All-NLC while the Minutemen had Quinn Miller as All-NLC and Raliegh Ball Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Wawasee (1-13) had Chase Rookstool as All-NLC and Lucas Garza as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
In softball, Wawasee ran away with its second-straight NLC title with a 13-1 mark. Head coach Jared Knipper was named Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
The Lady Warriors had Allissa Flores, Amber Lemberg, Cristina DeLaFuente and Meghan Fretz all earn All-NLC while Hannah Haines and Madie Wilson were Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Northridge (9-5) had Jada Crofoot, Bailey O’Dell, Kylee Lantz and Sami Deisler as All-NLC and Kaitlyn Kennedy and Sara Troyer as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Concord (8-6) had Kiley Austin, Audrey D’Arcy and McKenzie Loge as All-NLC and Hannah Boswell as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Goshen, NorthWood and Elkhart Memorial all finished at 7-7 in a tie for fourth place. Goshen had Emily Castillo and Kate Atkinson as All-NLC and AnaMaria Ramirez as Honorable Mention All-NLC, NorthWood had Arika Flickinger and Taylor Troxel as All-NLC and Claire McGuire as Honorable Mention All-NLC, and Memorial had Kaylee Warner, Kim Lucas and Shakira Perez as All-NLC and Alexa Swearengin as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Warsaw (5-9) had Grace Johnson as All-NLC and Abby Glass as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Plymouth (0-14) had Zoe Keilman as All-NLC and Bailey Hatfield as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
