Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
1:52 p.m. Saturday May 28, South SR 15, north of West CR 550S, Claypool. Drivers: Richard King, 37, West Justus Stephens Lane, Claypool, Clarence Mcneeley, 77, East CR 950S, La Fontaine, Mary Field, 75, Wilson Avenue, Peru and Robert Randall, 79, North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. King failed to decrease speed and caused a chain reaction of rear-endings. Damage up to $50,000.
1:22 a.m. Saturday, May 28, North Main Street, Sydney. Drivers: Travis Wood, 27, North Market Street, North Manchester, Jerry Holtsclaw, 20, North Canal Street, Alexandria. Wood stopped at a stop sign and failed to see Holtsclaw’s vehicle. Wood’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Holtsclaw’s vehicle. Wood was intoxicated at the scene with a 0.14 percent BAC. Holtsclaw was transported to KCH for a possible broken arm. Damage up to $10,000.
9:42 p.m. Friday, May 27, South SR 19, South of West CR 800S, Mentone. Driver: Gary Cline, 34, West CR 950S, Akron. Cline’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
10:01 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, North SR 19, south of West 750 North, Etna Green. Driver: Arlin Hochstetler, 29, Fir Road, Tippecanoe. Hochstetler’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
10:32 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, South CR 400E, north of East CR 1300S, North Manchester. Drivers: Katrina Shoemaker, 55, West CR 800N, North Manchester, and Max Beck, 88, North Goshen Road, Huntington. Shoemaker’s vehicle was following a bicycle when Beck began to pass the vehicle. Beck’s vehicle struck Shoemaker’s vehicle as Shoemaker’s vehicle attempted to pass the bicycle. Damage up to $10,000.
5:04 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, East U.S. 30, Pierceton. Driver: Trae Furnivall, 21, North Lighthouse Drive, Warsaw. Furnivall’s tire ruptured and caused him to exit the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
10:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, East Excalibur Place, Cromwell. Drivers: Paula Newman, 48, East Excalibur Place, Cromwell, and Randy Phillips, 63, North Enchanted Forest Lane, Cromwell. Newman was backing her vehicle up from a private drive and did not see Phillips’ vehicle and hit the right side of the vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
1:48 a.m. Monday, May 23, East Kilmer Drive, north of East North Drive, Milford. Driver: Roger Hyer, 50, West 15th St., Idaho Falls, Idaho. Hyer’s vehicle ran off the road and struck a telephone pole. Damage up to $10,000
Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department Department investigated the following accident:
2:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, West Main St., south of South Broadway Street, Mentone. Drivers: Tena Heinzmann, 57, North Old U.S. 15, Rochester, and Joselina Wagoner, 23, West CR 1400N Silverlake. Heinzmann and Wagoner were both backing out of parking spaces and collided. Damage up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department Department investigated the following accident:
1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 309 W. Emeline St., Milford. Driver: Michael Dawson, 42, East 100 South, Pierceton. Dawson backed his vehicle into a dumpster. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department Department investigated the following accident:
4:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, North SR 13, south of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Drivers: Kevin Weikart, 17, East South Barbee Drive, Pierceton, and Dawn Yoder, 43, North Birdie Court, Syracuse. Yoder was turning into the Wawasee Middle School parking lot when her vehicle was hit by Weikart’s. Damage up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department Department investigated the following accident:
8:39 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, Cherry Street, Winona Lake. Driver: Thomas Eads, 45, West Busoni Place, Phoenix, Ariz. Eads’ vehicle struck a low-hanging phone line belonging to Century Link. Damage up to $2,500.
